The tenor Valentin Prolat is a soloist of the opera of the National Theatre in Prague. He was born in Minsk, Russia, and graduated from the State Conservatory in St Petersburg. In 1991 he was invited to the National Theatre in Prague to take the part of Rodolfo in Puccini´s La Bohme and since then has performed about thirty roles there, for example Alfred in La Traviata, Lenski in Eugene Onegin, the Count in Rigoletto, Don Alvaro in La Forza del Destino, Faust, Romeo, Don José in Carmen as well as Jeník in The Bartered Bride. He often appears in opera houses and concert halls abroad, performing regularly in Vienna.
